Why this is interesting for media delivery? SimplePie parses media:rss in the same way as it can parse normal rss. Thus we can use the SimplePie mediawiki plugin to deliver multi-format video and audio into a mediawiki. I.e. we can transcode and manage media outside the mediawiki, and simply include the results in the mediawiki.
